We are on spring break and so today the kids and I went to see How To Train Your Dragon in 3D. I called around for a babysitter because I did not want to bring Baby Doodle, but no luck so I armed myself with Dum Dums, chocolate eggs and fruit snacks. We all loved the movie! It's an adult and child pleaser. The story follows Hiccup, a misfit Viking teenager, who learns to love and train a dragon as a pet and friend instead of fight him as a foe. The script is well written and witty and heart-felt. The voices are all well cast and the 3D animation is amazing!
Right now (we are still early in 2010) this movie seems a shoe in for Best Animated Feature of 2010. We may even go again this week because Hubby wants to see it too.
My 5-year-old son had one complaint; he did not like it when Hiccup and Astrid got cuddly on the dragon. He told me, “I don’t like this part, I like the action.”
Doodle sat on my lap and covered himself and me with chocolate and sucker stickiness, but it was worth it because I actually was able to watch and enjoy the movie.
On the way out, Lyds and Z-man insisted on keeping their glasses (but never fear we did recycle mine and Doodle’s). They even wore them out of the theater and into the parking lot so I had to take a picture.
Go see How To Train Your Dragon and pay the extra dollars to watch it in 3D, your money will be well spent. FAMILYFARE.

Are those the good 3D glasses? Because then we might go to the 3D show....
Yes, they are the nice 3D glasses which I agree makes for much better viewing quality. My children asked on the way in if they could keep them and the ticket taker said "yes" so they were a little bit upset by the commercial that said to stay green and recycle them.
But they decided to keep them anyway since I was recycling my glasses. However, with the glut of 3D movies coming out, I think I should have kept mine too and reused them myself.
Anna loved it too! My kids love seeing the picture of your kids!
